Beautiful Basic Invites

Basic Invites
I’m a tad obsessed with stationery.  My friend and I often write letters back and forth between Virginia and California. I really enjoy the formality of paper cards, letters and invites. There is something so special and exciting about receiving these goodies in the mail. I keep my favorite cards in a box at home – little mementos of friendship.

When Basic Invites approached me, I was amazed by their gorgeous stationery selection. Basic Invites is one of the few sites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you decide on a design, you can change the color of any tiny detail you want – 180 different color options! How cool is that? In the past, I’ve spent hours scouring the internet trying to find that perfect color invite to match the look feel of a party… especially for wedding invitations and showers. A common question I was asked when planning our wedding was, “What are your wedding colors?” Basic Invites makes matching your invitation colors very easy for you.

A Grown-Up Girls Party

So Shannon and I were talking the other day… it’s funny how you reach that point in life when sleepovers at your friends house become a thing of the past. We grow-up, get married and have babies — quick lunch dates over foo foo salads take the place of that quality girl time we had when we were younger. So we decided to have a girls night with all the works: face masks, nail polish, chocolate and an endless array of junk food all centered around a big air mattress, pillows and blankets. Everyone brought a treat or drink to share. We lounged around in our jammies, laughed at our high school pictures and caught each other up on life. It was a blast — A well needed reminder of the good old days.

Here is the picture we used for our invite. Haha. Love it.

My Bachelorette Party

Here are some pictures from my bachelorhette party in August.  My lovely bridesmaids and a few friends took me on a weekend getway to Palm Springs! We had an awesome time laying out by the pool, having dinner at PF Chang’s and spending some quality girl time together. It’s just what I needed before the wedding week rush!

 Lounging and loving life.
We got the great idea to see how many of us we could squeeze into our bath-tub.

It looks like I have a bubble goatee.^
Some good, clean fun.

Getting our dance on with about 50 other Brides.^

And on the way home we got to visit an old friend. My parents would always stop off at the T-Rex on our way through Cabazon when we were kids. We’d get to go into the belly of the Long Neck Dino shop and walk across the street for a date milkshake before setting off on the road again.
Fun times. Thank you to all my girls for an unforgettable weekend. You guys are the best.
