Surf Trip & The Chinook

A few weeks ago, Dan and I spent the weekend at El Capitain with some friends. We finally got a chance to bring the Chinook – a 1976 popup camper that D’s been restoring for the past few months. It was completely roached when we got it…he put in new wood floors, chairs, carpet, storage beds, a sink and a mini fridge! This man is amazing! He even sewed his own curtains and my Grandpa taught him how to make custom cushions for the bench seats. It turned out pretty cool.

It was a fun weekend…a little cold, but nice to getaway with friends, sit around a campfire and cook dinner together. After 1 night in El Cap, we drove back down to Ventura for a little more surf before going home. Fun times.

^^^ A pic of the storage benches/bed that D made. Benches and table by day/queen bed by night. Pretty snazzy D! Super classy international beer curtains babe…nice touch. We can fit 7 of our friends in the back when the benches are up. It was fun to huddle up in the camper when it got cold outside.

Cookin’ around the campfire! My cousins came out to visit us for dinner. So nice of them to stop by!

It was a fun and fast trip. Here is a little clip of our weekend.

Our Jalama Adventure

About a month or so ago ( I know I am super behind on posts!) we went on our annual trip to Jalama, CA. It was a wild weekend with 60 mph winds, sand storms and broken tents. But we always try to make the best of things right? Here are some pictures from our weekend in Jalama.

Surfing Weekend Trip {Carlsbad, Ca}

 We had a fabulous time camping in Carlsbad this weekend. It was so nice to get away and enjoy the beach, surfing and hanging with friends. One of my favorite things to do is huddle around a campfire, chat with friends and cook s’mores. I was also excited to tryout an indian espresso recipe!

Jalama Trip

Here are some pictures from our trip to Jalama Beach. It was a fun weekend. We were glad to get away for just a few short days; to take a break from work and wedding planning. It’s nice to clear your head once in awhile. Funny thing though… we hit a huge rain storm and 40mph winds! We spent most of the time inside the Winnebago with our friends, but any time spent with friends is time well spent! The weather wasn’t on our side, but the waves sure were!

Dany T. and I did some water painting
Here is a picture of our camp, during a spot of sunshine…the poles we used to hold up the awning were bent in half by morning time (the wind was that STRONG). How exciting!

Dany T. (one of my lovely bridesmaids) and I were the only ladies on the trip. Making dinner for a bunch of hungry guys is quite a task. They’ve got it too good.
