The Benefits of Fresh Pressed Sugarcane Juice

Every other week I make the trek out to Wesminster to stock up my tropical goodies at my favorite fruit market. It’s the greatest little strip of Mom and Pop shops mostly selling imports from Thailand and Vietnam. Mangos, passion fruit, papaya, cherimoya, rose apples, guavas etc. I really love their fresh sugarcane juice (AKA Nuoc Mia). It’s delicious, nutritious and alkalizing. It has unexpected health benefits – loaded with calcium, chromium, cobalt, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium and zinc. It also contains iron and vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B3, B5, and B6, along with a high concentration of antioxidants. Whaaa!? Too cool! It has a low Glycemic Index = a steady release of energy without crashing! It promotes healthy skin, hair and nails + tastes amazing! I like to blend it with green kumquats! I usually get 1 liter and split it with Dan over the next two days…using it as a smoothie base or adding lime and mint for a fun twist. *For maximum health benefits drink immediately after pressing.
